How to set your Criminal Case avatar as your profile picture?

In case you need to use your avatar in Criminal Case as your Facebook profile picture, you will need to find a way to snapshot the computer screen and then slice the avatar from it, or a tool to snip the part you need from the screen directly.

After the image is ready, it is easy to save it to your PC and then upload it to Facebook. Windows 7 provides some easy-to-use tools by which you can save a part of the computer screen as a picture in your PC. I am going to illustrate 2 tools: Snipping Tool and Paint. So, let's get into it!

Step 1: Use Snipping Tool to slice a part of your computer screen

From Start choose All Programs, Accessories then Snipping Tool.

Now it's time to preview your current avatar. Go to Criminal Case and choose 'Customize your character in the shop' in the left part of the main map.

Notice that you now have your avatar to the left and the Snipping Tool window to the right. All what you need now is to choose 'New' and then click and drag by the mouse cursor around your avatar to make a selection. Try it now!

You have done it! Click save snip. Snipping Tool provides some extensions for the pictures you snip, and every type differs slightly. PNG files are usually bigger and more clear while GIF files are small and with less quality. You can choose either to save your new snip as a PNG or JPG for better quality.

Alternative: Using Paint

In order to use the most popular tool for screenshots, Paint, you need at first to 'print' you screen to your computer memory 'The Clipboard' and then 'paste' it into Paint.

There is a key in your keyboard which is usually in the upper row called 'Print Screen' or 'PrtScr'. This is the one we will be using.

Open your avatar in Criminal Case as mentioned earlier then tab the key 'PrtScr' in your keyboard. Now open Paint by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories then Paint.

Click on 'Paste' or just hit Ctrl + V on your keyboard. You will find the whole computer screen now appearing into Paint! Good job.

However, we need to 'crop' a certain part of this screen 'which contains the avatar' so it is time to 'select' this part. Click on the button 'Select' as shown above and then click and drag your mouse to make a selection around your avatar.

Good job again! Now click 'Crop' from above. You will find this specific part only in the Paint screen so it's time to save it to your PC. Click on the save button or just hit Ctrl + S and save it as a PNG or JPG file as mentioned before.

Step 2: Upload your avatar to Facebook

Now comes the easy part! Log into your account and go to your profile. Hover over your profile picture and choose 'Update Profile Picture'. Choose the picture you saved to your PC and upload it.

You may need to crop the picture so Facebook knows if you want to set it as-is or just a part of it. We are now done!

If you find this tutorial helpful, I encourage you to share it with your friends and to leave your feedback at my Facebook profile. Thanks for your time.
